Annual Day - 18.08.12

Aug 25, 2012

BVM Global @ Nandi Woods, Bangalore celebrated its second annual day on 18th August 2012, Saturday. It was a happy occasion for all of us as we looked back with pride at the achievements of our students in the past few months.

The stage was colourfully decorated with flowers and butterflies that complimented the cheerful mood. Dhanyush of class 6 and Surabhi of class 5 compered the whole event with great energy.

Ms. Priya Krishnamurthy, executive trustee of CMCA, Bangalore was the Chief Guest on this special occasion. Mrs. Mahalaxmi, Vice Principal Bala Vidya Mandir, Adyar graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Her presence encouraged us immensely. The presence of our valued parents and guests kept our spirits high.

Our little blossoms from LKG welcomed everyone with a song that engrossed the spectators. It was followed by an action song in Tamil by our tiny tots from LKG. Out talented little ones from UKG enacted a skit “Big bear’s Cake” and delighted everyone. The kids from UKG next presented a Kannada song on the beauty of the rainy season.

The official function began hereafter. Our Head girl, Manashini of class 6 presented the Annual Report for the year 2012-13. She informed the audience about the introduction of new courses, French language, and inauguration of various club activities from this academic year. The report highlighted the achievements of students from primary in non-scholastic fields outside the school.

The Chief Guest Ms. Priya Krishnamurthy became nostalgic and remembered her own school days as she addressed the gathering. She was all in praise for the colourful decorations on stage and applauded the teachers for their effort. The mementos were then presented to our esteemed guests by Shreya of class 3 and Shraddha of class 4.

The official function was followed by another round of colourful performances by the primary section. The students of class 4 and 5 performed a classical dance in the Bharatnatyam style paying obeisance to Lord Ganesha.  Next was the English play ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’ enacted by students from classes 1 to 5. It certainly enthralled the audience. Students of class 1 danced to a beautiful song ‘Rang Birangi Dharti’ on the beauty of our planet Earth. It sent a strong message on the need to take care and respect Mother Earth.  It was time for some comedy, a French play ‘J’aime Parler Francais’ was enacted by the students of class 6. It was a hilarious take on the confusion created by interaction of people speaking different languages. This was followed by fusion music rendered by the students of class 3 to 6 that gave a classical and modern touch to this variety programme. The programme came to a close as everyone joined in the National Anthem along with the teachers.

The performances of the children were highly applauded by all parents and guests.  We at BVM Global@ Nandi Woods are overwhelmed by the support of all parents and look forward to more encouragement to host successful events in the coming months.
