KARNATAKA RAJYOTSAVA CELEBRATION
KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA, Karnataka Formation Day was celebrated at BVM GLOBAL @ NANDI WOODS. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka.
The celebration started with great joy and vigour by praying to the Kannada Goddess Sri Bhuvaneswari Devi and remembering Aluru Venkata Rao, the first person who dreamt of unifying the state. The program continued with activities like Kannada Poem Recitation by class 1 children followed by a group song, where the school choir sang the Karnataka State Song. Later, Manashini from class V sang a patriotic song in Kannada. Other children also joined in the singing along with the school Kannada Master, Mr.Srihari. He also gave a speech in Kannada explaining the significance of  Kannada Rajyotsava and described various beautiful places of the state which was translated by Mr.Patrick, Social Science Master. Children enjoyed watching the Kannada Rhymes & Songs Videos after the presentation on “Glories of Karnataka”. They also had a Q & A session where children actively participated in identifying and answering the clippings shown in the ppt.
Finally, the program came to an end with distribution of chocolates. The children were happy to carry home the Karnataka Flag pinned to their pockets.
